A research summary based on research undertaken by Fitzgerald et al (2006). It summarises the main findings of a study that examined the ways in which managers from clinical and non-clinical backgrounds interpret and carry out their roles in the process of implementing service improvements.

A research summary presenting the main findings of a systematic literature review by Greenhalgh et al (2004). The review looked at how innovations spread and what makes successful implementation of an innovation more likely.

March 2004 - How managers can help users to bring about change in the NHS
A research summary based on the main findings of two literature reviews by Crawford et al (2003) and Rose et al (2002). The first review looked at user involvement in change management across a range of sectors to identify factors that promote successful user involvement. The second review looked at literature about user and/or carer involvement in managing organisational change within mental health services.
