Part time secondment opportunities for Senior Scientific Advisors at NETSCC, SDO x 2

The post of Senior Scientific Advisor is an opportunity to help develop the programme by providing content expertise at a senior level to help identify, develop and prioritise important research questions, and communicate outputs of funded projects to decision makers and other stakeholders.

These secondments are a valued opportunity for mid-career academics and researchers and their institutions to gain insight into and direct experience of NIHR research commissioning, and to help shape the future research agenda of the SDO programme.

The successful applicant will have significant experience and knowledge of the NHS and social or health sciences, together with an interest in and commitment to use of evidence in decision-making. An understanding of current research within health services organisation is essential, and direct experience of carrying out such research is desirable.

Applicants should be at Senior Lecturer or Lecturer level with significant experience of undertaking research for NIHR, government departments, research councils or other funders. These posts are based at the University of Southampton and offered as a secondment for 2 - 3 days a week, with a minimum requirement for one day a week to be in Southampton plus attendance at Panel, Group and Board meetings which are usually held in London.
